I am a volunteer who posts ads to help get these dogs out of shelters, as they do not have much time. I posted all I know about the dog. Please call the shelter to find out more info. HOWIE IS A LARGE BOY WEIGHING ABOUT 46 POUNDS. IT'S NO SHOCK THAT HOWIE'S OWNER NEVER CAME FOR HIM: HOWIE TESTED POSITIVE FOR HEARTWORM. HEARTWORM IS TREATABLE BUT IT'S ALSO PREVENTABLE. Bloodhound Dogs can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. Bloodhounds are extremely good natured dogs that are exceptionally patient and gentle with children. Bloodhounds love affection and attention. Bloodhounds have a stubborn streak and a mind of their own; they need firm training and discipline. Bloodhounds are friendly and devoted to their masters. Bloodhounds are prized for their ability to follow any scent; this makes them likely to wander off if not kept on a leash. Bloodhounds need daily exercise but are fairly laid back indoors and so do okay in an apartment as long as they have regular opportunities to be active and take walks.
