Rescue Me ID: 17-07-11-00421Belle (female)

Bloodhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Belle originally came to us when she was a puppy with we saved her mom and litter-mates from a shelter. She was adopted out as a puppy and lived with her family for 2 years before they returned her to us when they moved into an apartment. Poor Belle!! She is very scared of the shelter and all the loud noises. She has warmed up slowly. She is not aggressive, but just stays in the back of her kennel. When you go to greet her and she realizes you are not there to hurt her, she sweetly offers her paw in your hand. Its the cutest! Then she opens up. She LOVES to go for walks. She does not pull on the leash at all. She also loves the play yard- I ... (Read More)think both activities she loves even more because she is out of her run and away from the noise of the building. She seems like she would be a very loyal and laid back dog. Come meet her today and see for yourself though! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-20-00582Tracker (male)

Bloodhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

Tracker is registered as my Emotional Support Animal, but due to financial reasons I cannot afford to keep him. I have tried unsuccessfully to find a rescue that will return my calls. He is a very anxious dog; therefore, needs someone who is patient and has the time to bond with him. He also has numerous allergies, so he needs to stay on a hydrolized diet and relocate to a state that does not have St Augustine grass. He also will not do well in a shelter due to his anxiety. That combined with my inability to afford his food and medical is the reason he will be euthanized. I cannot afford to transport, bring to vets, special clinics, health ... (Read More)certifications, or anything else, so please do not ask. Besides his allergies and anxiety, he is a very healthy dog. He is up to date on all shots and has been taking Trifexis on a monthly basis. (Less)

Great dog. A little high energy, but very friendly. Great with other dogs. We are starting to travel too much and he needs a second dog as a friend. Very sweet tempered. His sire is a papered bloodhound and his mother a papered black lab. He's grown up around our kids and we have been his only owners.

'ۢ We have LOTS of precious fur babies available for adoption, please come meet them at the Addison PetSmart - 3800 Belt Line, Addison, TX 75001 - every Saturday and Sunday from 1-6. Our adoption fees include a grooming with nail trim - all vaccines - deworming - a complete health check - a HW test if old enough - microchip - rabies - spay/neuter - and a PetSmart adoption starter kit that includes $5 off a six-month supply of HW preventative - a free %BD-hour private training session with a PetSmart accredited pet trainer - a free bag of food - a free doggie day camp session - a free overnight stay in a PetSmart PetsHotel - a free vet ... (Read More)exam at Banfield - grooming coupons - over $400 of coupons/savings - and MUCH MORE! We have a two-step adoption process. First, you submit an application, which is presented to our Board for approval or rejection. If approved, a home check is done, and if that passes - you adopt which includes a 1-week trial period, if - for any reason during that first week, the adoption is not working out, you can return the dog for a full refund of your adoption fee. ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))PS - WE NEED FOSTER HOMES FOR ANIMALS! Fosters are the backbone of animal rescue. In most EVERY shelter - in most EVERY county - in most EVERY city - animals r being euthanized (KILLED) daily due to overcrowding - dog - cat - large - small - male - female - puppy - kitten - old - young. We cannot save them without foster homes. APPROXIMATELY ONE OUT OF THREE ANIMALS THAT ENTER A SHELTER IS EUTHANIZED. These healthy sweet pets would have made great companions. Don't know what fostering is? Briefly - it is babysitting an animal until it is adopted. FOSTERING IS FREE TO DO! Most rescues cover all expenses for fosters, and anything they do not cover is tax-deductible. If u cannot foster - please ask your friends and family to. If u want more information - Google 'animal fostering.' I'm begging - it's only temporary but lives can't be saved unless people step up - PLEASE - shelters are overflowing - when you foster one animal - you save two lives - the one you foster and the one that gets his/her space in the shelter. If you can/will foster - let me know, I thank you - and the animals thank you! PS - Have you ever dreamed of helping a rescue but don't have the time, space, or just plain don't know what to do? At your pet limit? Allergic? Can't have pets where you live? Well - how about becoming a VIRTUAL FOSTER... You can choose a minimum amount of $10 a month to 'virtually' foster a homeless animal of your choice (of course, a larger sum would be happily accepted and appreciated). What does Virtual Foster mean? Our foster fur babies typically have many veterinary bills, as this is the nature of being rescued. There are also other expenses related to the ongoing care and rehab of fosters. As a Virtual Foster, your donation will go towards the vetting - medical care, and general care of the animal you have chosen. Your donation will go a LONG way in ensuring a foster dog receives the needed care and attention! In return for your kind donation, you will receive a periodic update on the progress of your foster. Once your foster is adopted, you will be notified so that you can choose another animal to virtually foster. If you genuinely cannot adopt or foster, there are still other ways to help. Sponsor an adoption or medical treatment. Volunteer your time - drive for transports, rescue groups always need dogs transported from one place to the next. Donate money, our rescue is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. Educate - spread the word about the need for fosters. Sign up for notifications from your local rescue group or shelter, and share the animals in need on social media, there are so many ways to help - thank you, please share this post (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bloodhound in Texas
Bloodhound Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Bloodhounds are extremely good natured dogs that are exceptionally patient and gentle with children. Bloodhounds love affection and attention. Bloodhounds have a stubborn streak and a mind of their own; they need firm training and discipline. Bloodhounds are friendly and devoted to their masters. Bloodhounds are prized for their ability to follow any scent; this makes them likely to wander off if not kept on a leash. Bloodhounds need daily exercise but are fairly laid back indoors and so do okay in an apartment as long as they have regular opportunities to be active and take walks.
