Rescue Me ID: 14-08-25-00179Waylon (male)

Bloodhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

We adopted Waylon from our local shelter because he was in danger of being euthanized. He is a great dog, but would benefit from being with someone who runs or hikes. He is a born hunter, and once his nose hits the ground he is off. He has jumped over our fence and gotten away more times than I can count. He can back out of collars and some harnesses. We have finally contained him to an area of our yard with a static collar, but I feel so bad for him. He was born to run and hunt. I don't want him to be a hunting dog, but I want him to think he is hunting :) He is noble and loving, and makes an excellent guard dog by alerting us when ... (Read More)there is anyone around. I hope someone with a farm, or someone who is an outdoorsy person looking for a walking/running partner will see this beautiful dog and want him for a companion. He is approximately 100 pounds, and EXTREMELY strong, so he could benefit from some training. He just recently tried out a wonderful home with some very active owners, but he proved to be too much for them as well, even getting away from them. Please contact me with any questions you may have, and thanks for looking :) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-05-17-00095Bonnie (female)

Bloodhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We call her Bonnie but our vet named her Shamequa Holdsclaw in honor of a famous female basketball player who played for UT. She has an 'ornange' sleeve on her right leg and will hold it up when she is playing. Bonnie came to our attention as a stray that had 10 pups. We were able to get her pups to another rescue and now Bonnie needs her forever home. She does not warm up to a stranger immediately but once she trusts you her true personality shines. She loves to play. She is good with other dogs too. And she has that beautiful coonhound bay!! She would make a great addition to a family or single household!
